2025 Annual Report
Peace, Welfare, Sustainable production and consumption, Health
Our school aims to nurture students who can create the future, enrich their minds, and live with resilience and strength. We strive to develop in each student the qualities and abilities necessary to respond appropriately to the rapid changes of society, enabling them to pursue their dreams and shape their own futures through their own efforts.
In this school year, we have adopted the educational philosophy, “Takatsu Junior High School: A Warm School with Pride.” We define a warm school as one in which students recognize and respect one another and are able to live together in harmony. Based on this philosophy, we are committed to implementing daily educational practices that foster mutual understanding and cooperation.
At our school, we regard Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) as an approach to education that draws out and develops students’ strengths and potential. Through ESD practices centered on the theme “Peace and Justice for All,” we aim to contribute to the achievement of our school goals. We believe that the principle of “recognizing one another and living together,” which forms the foundation of our educational philosophy, is essential.
Specifically, through interactions with peers, parents, and members of the local community, students engaged in activities that encouraged them to think about peace and justice, to recognize and respect one another, and to learn the importance of living together in a diverse society. Our major activities included: (1) activities related to school events; (2) activities focused on self-improvement; (3) activities that promote mutual recognition and coexistence; and (4) activities that strengthen connections with the local community.
Since the 2020 school year, all students have been engaged in learning about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To promote cross-curricular learning that emphasizes the relationship between the SDGs and each subject area, we have reviewed and revised our annual teaching plans. In the 2021 school year, the student council took the initiative to consider what actions they could take and carried them out autonomously. Furthermore, in June 2022, we established an “SDGs Month,” during which each student reflected on what they could do to contribute to society. Through activities of mutual recognition and shared learning, we observed students developing a proactive attitude toward contributing to society.
Annual Work Plan
① Priority Activity Area 1
Student council members took part in the Yachiyo Children’s Summit in collaboration with nearby elementary and junior high schools, discussing local and social issues. They planned and carried out community contribution activities based on the SDGs.
② Priority Activity Area 2
Through school events such as the athletic festival, overnight programs, and workplace experiences, students cultivated respect for diverse values and mutual recognition. They developed the ability to think and act independently toward sustainable lifestyles.
③ Priority Activity Area 3
Through participation in local events and exchanges during overnight programs, students deepened their understanding of different cultures and diverse cultural backgrounds. Interacting with their peers provided opportunities to learn about coexistence and shared values.
