[This Year’s Activities] Under the theme of “Developing Human Resources for a Sustainable Society: Learn, Deepen, and Expand,” each grade level has been working on various initiatives.
Research Learning: Students researched world and domestic issues from various perspectives, such as what the SDGs are, why the 17 goals were set, and what activities are currently being practiced. By sharing this information, they considered the necessity of working toward the SDGs and prepared for full-scale activities starting next year.
“Kamikuru” Used Paper Recycling: Using Epson’s “Kamikuru” program, we launched the “Kamikuru Project.” We collected used paper and created school event booklets (Shiori) from recycled paper.
“eyecity ECO Project”: Empty contact lens cases are sent to recycling plants to be repurposed into new resources. At school, we raised awareness of this project and set up collection points.
Annual Work Plan
In the next school year, the SDGs Committee will take a central role in our initiatives. Under the core theme of “Learn, Deepen, and Expand,” each grade will implement activities suited to their circumstances, based on a three-year roadmap.
Furthermore, the entire school will continue its commitment to recycling. This includes the “Kamikuru” used paper recycling program, the “eyecity ECO Project” for collecting contact lens cases, and the collection of plastic bottle caps.
