2025 Annual Report

Areas covered as subjects of study

Disaster reduction/prevention, Environment, Cultural diversity, World heritage/intangible cultural heritage/regional cultural properties, International understanding, Peace, Sustainable production and consumption

As part of its nature as an international school aimed at bridging the boundary between Korea and Japan, Korea International school aims to create students who can be “Global Citizens”. To this end, we try to foster international mindedness in all our students. All students take courses in 3 or more languages and learn the history of both nations.

In addition to international mindedness, a specific focus on SDGs also exists at our school. Part of this focus is the “UNESCO Activities Committee” which takes part in volunteering activities both within and without Japan. This year its members endeavoured to participate quite frequently, from assisting with marathons and festivals, to taking part in international exchange events and teaching Japanese at the local community center. Students make independent choices on where best they can improve their communities.

Annual Work Plan

Looking towards the future, we plan to increase overall student involvement in activities related to SDGs, and to find opportunities to participate in national events. Also, in association with the school’s event planning committee, we plan to use some of the international days of recognition to improve the student body’s understanding of what it means to be a UNESCO school.
