2025 Annual Report
Environment, Cultural diversity, World heritage/intangible cultural heritage/regional cultural properties, International understanding, Dietary education, Global Citizenship Education (GCED)
First-Year Students:
We invited working professionals, primarily alumni active in local companies in Fukuyama City, as guest lecturers to speak about their attitudes toward work. While learning about the SDGs initiatives and challenges of companies they were interested in, students actively asked questions with an eye toward their corporate work experience programs in the following year.
Second-Year Students:
During their school trip, students visited the World Expo held in Osaka. As part of their preparatory study, they researched the SDGs initiatives of various countries. By interacting and communicating with people from many different nations at the venue, they were able to experience a wide range of perspectives.
Third-Year Students:
Using the knowledge and presentation skills developed in their first and second years, students held a data-based panel discussion for the entire school. Under the theme “Actions We Can Take,” they proposed SDGs activities that students could start immediately. Furthermore, they set up interactive booths at the school festival to present their ideas.
Cross-Grade Activities:
Student volunteers from each grade have continued to participate in online exchange programs with a junior high school in South Korea, following on from last year.
Annual Work Plan
First-Year Students:
Through “Furusato (Hometown) Studies,” students learn about the initiatives and challenges of local companies in Fukuyama City. By deepening their knowledge of their hometown and preparing for the following year’s work experience program, they develop an awareness of their roles as members of society.
Second-Year Students:
Students engage in corporate inquiry learning through hands-on work experience, collaborating with peers to study the SDGs initiatives of various companies. During their school trip, they coordinate with businesses in Osaka to conduct site visits, deepening their understanding of corporate philosophies and professional values.
Third-Year Students:
Students take the lead in organizing the school’s traditional panel discussion to present their findings to the first- and second-year students. Furthermore, they share these results with the local community through events such as the school festival.
Conclusion:
Through these activities, we aim to nurture students who can think independently and take proactive action.
