Calling on all UNESCO Associated Schools to getinvolved UNESCO’s #RightToEducation campaign
Through a series of videos, animations,visuals, interviews and stories, the UNESCO campaign - that runs until 18December 2018 - will unpack the legal significance of the right to educationand the major challenges that are blocking its path. It will explain the workthat UNESCO does around the world to ensure each country is fulfilling itslegal obligations and commitments.
UNESCO calls on you to get involved as yourschool can play a significant role in spreading the word and sensitizingstudents of all ages to understand, recognize and defend the #RightToEducation.
Belowyou will find ideas and suggestions on how teachers can involve students toparticipate in the campaign and adapt the campaign materials to different agegroups.
For pre-primary school teachers
Have a brief circle time explaining why education and the #RightToEducation is important and ask who they think should go to school. Get inspiration from this article What you need to know about the right to education
Watch UNESCO’s animation video about a girl named Reena and her desire to go to school
Ask students to draw and paint their own eyes – mirroring the visual style of the campaign. Additionally, teachers can help students include #RightToEducation on their drawings (get ideas here).
Post students’ drawings on the school’s social media channels (using the hashtag #RightToEducation and #ASPnet).
Send pictures of the drawings on the ASPnet Platform to show that your school have joined the campaign

For secondary, technical and vocational school teachers
Ask students why they think education is important and ask who they think should go to school. As a class, brainstorm the fundamental reasons of having the #RightToEducation.
Get students to join UNESCO’s campaign on Instagram by taking photos of their eyes and work on messages relating to the #RightToEducation (get ideas here) – Keep in mind they should use @UNESCO and the hashtag #RightToEducation and #ASPnet.
